Women public services workers and their unions are in a powerful position to lead and shape the global debate on advancing gender equality at work.
In 2026, the International Labour Organization (ILO) will hold two key strategic discussions on gender equality. PSI is actively preparing to ensure coherence in our positions and to make sure our collective voice is heard:
- Tripartite Meeting of Experts on Paternity, Parental Protection, and Other Care Leave (May)
- 114th International Labour Conference (ILC) General Discussion on Advancing the Transformative Agenda for Gender Equality at Work (June)
The current context within the ILO is challenging. Regressive forces are seeking to weaken the Organization and undermine its ability to govern the world of work in the pursuit of labour justice. Navigating this environment will not be easy.
However, PSI, together with the Global Unions and the Workers’ Group, will stand united to defend workers’ rights, protect the tripartite system, and uphold the ILO’s international labour standards — including the Decent Work Agenda.
This survey is intended for PSI affiliates (one answer per organisation). It represents an important first step in shaping a joint political strategy for these critical upcoming discussions. The survey results will also be analysed and consolidated into a report and advocacy materials to support trade union engagement.
Please fill in the survey by 19 December 2025.
