The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) will hold a virtual public hearing on November 16, 2026, to provide the public the opportunity to present comments and information regarding the Agency’s Proposed Amendments to the 2024 New Source Performance Standards and Emissions Guidelines for oil and natural gas operations
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is proposing revisions to the 2024 Clean Air Act (CAA) New Source Performance Standards (NSPS) and Emissions Guidelines (EG) for the oil and natural gas industry, commonly referred to as NSPS OOOOb and EG OOOOc, to significantly reduce the regulatory burden imposed by the Biden-Harris Administration.
On March 12, 2025, EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin announced a comprehensive reconsideration of OOOOb and OOOOc to unleash energy dominance and continue the Nation’s trajectory as a leader in clean energy and emissions reductions. As part of this effort, EPA is proposing amendments to the 2024 Final Rule to address a focused scope of additional issues raised by industry and other stakeholders.
The proposed amendments are intended to alleviate regulatory burden on owners and operators in the oil and natural gas industry and save the U.S. economy $45 billion per year.
The hearing day will consist of four sessions: · Session 1: 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM (Eastern Time) · Session 2: 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM (Eastern Time) · Session 3: 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM (Eastern Time) · Session 4: 5:30 PM - 7:00 PM (Eastern Time) This meeting will be held through a virtual platform. A link to the meeting and any additional instructions will be sent to your email address after registration closes.
