The Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) provides a
K-12 History and Social Science Curricular Materials Guide, intended to support Massachusetts educators who are selecting history/social science curricular materials by identifying promising materials worthy of further investigation by schools and districts. The Guide was written in 2021, with updates and expansions of topics in 2023 and 2026.
At this time, DESE does not have a set review cycle schedule for when new/updated materials will be reviewed. If you have a history/social science curricular material that is not currently included in the Guide and wish to submit it for a future review, please complete this form. Once a new review cycle begins, in addition to a landscape scan and call for submissions, the review team will reach out to the publishers of materials submitted here requesting more information.
