Public Hearing on Agency's interim final action to extend the 2025 reporting deadline of the Greenhouse Gas Reporting Program (GHGRP) to March 10, 2027

Public Hearing on Agency’s interim final action to extend the 2025 reporting deadline of the Greenhouse Gas Reporting Program (GHGRP) to March 10, 2027

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) will hold a virtual public hearing on October 29, 2026, to provide the public the opportunity to present comments and information regarding the Agency’s interim final action to extend the 2025 reporting deadline of the Greenhouse Gas Reporting Program (GHGRP) to March 10, 2027.

  • On September 16, 2025, EPA issued the GHGRP Reconsideration Proposal that proposed to permanently remove program obligations for most source categories of the GHGRP.
  • On February 27, 2026, EPA issued a final rule extending the 2025 reporting deadline from March 31, 2026, to October 30, 2026.
  • EPA is taking interim final action to extend the 2025 reporting deadline from October 30, 2026, to March 10, 2027.
    • This deadline extension provides EPA additional time to consider comments on the GHGRP Reconsideration Proposal.
    • This deadline extension also allows entities adequate time to prepare and submit reporting year 2025 reports.
