Kids Don’t Float (KDF) is a statewide injury prevention program that was developed to address Alaska's high child and youth drowning rate. In a collaborative effort between several state and federal agencies, organizations, and local grass-roots sponsors,
Kids Don't Float now includes both the KDF Life Jacket Loaner Board Program and the KDF Education Program.
The
Kids Don't Float (KDF) Education Program is a model curriculum anyone can use to teach boating safety. This KDF Instructor Training will provide you with the information and resources needed to provide boating safety lessons in your community. This training will cover the Cold Water Survival lesson, which can be adapted to fit grades K-12. It will also cover the KDF Pool Session. We will spend two hours on the classroom training, and two hours at the pool. More information will be provided soon; please fill out the form to be included on future communications about this training.
