New England Rental Energy Technical Assistance Expression of Interest

ACEEE and the Sabin Center for Climate Change Law are offering no-cost technical assistance to New England communities and organizations working to advance energy efficiency and electrification in rental housing while protecting renters and supporting housing stability.

We expect technical assistance engagements to focus on clearly defined, manageable projects that can be completed within a period of roughly 2–4 months. Projects may involve new or existing initiatives. Assistance may address program design, renter protections, legal questions, implementation approaches, or other related needs. Assistance may include research, review of proposed approaches or materials, development of guidance or templates, and feedback on program design. The technical assistance will not focus on building engineering, equipment selection, or technical system design. Organizations may submit an expression of interest independently or with partners. Partnerships are welcome but are not required.

This brief expression of interest is intended to help us understand the work you are pursuing, the issue you would like assistance addressing, and the type of support that would be most useful. Applicants whose projects appear to be a good fit may be asked to participate in a 30-minute follow-up conversation and develop a short scope of work clarifying the proposed activities, responsibilities, deliverables, and timeline before technical assistance begins.
