Sprouting Success Program Overview

About the Program
The Sprouting Success: Operations, Culinary Skills & Farm-to-School Training combines the SproutCNP training platform with a series of OSPI live, virtual training sessions to support food service operations for National School Lunch Program (NSLP) sponsors. The training program supports school nutrition professionals at all levels from directors and managers to frontline staff.

Participants will complete asynchronous SproutCNP training courses focused on food service operations, financial and operational management, kitchen efficiencies, food preparation and production, forecasting, inventory management, and workforce development. Program directors will have access to the SproutCNP Training Tracker, which will allow them to monitor and track staff training.

Participants will also attend supplemental live, virtual trainings provided by OSPI that build upon course content and support the practical application of these skills within a farm to school framework. OSPI trainings will include strategies to strengthen food service operations, incorporate local foods into school meals, and advance operational excellence.

Continuing Professional Education Credits
Continuing Professional Education (CPEUs) are available through the Commission on Dietetic Registration for registered dietitians and dietetic technicians, registered for all SproutCNP courses. All training courses also count toward annual United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Professional Standards training requirements for school nutrition staff.

Eligibility

The Sprouting Success: Operations, Culinary Skills & Farm-to-School Training is available for sponsors in good standing with all USDA Child Nutrition Program they operate.
