This study measures the economic impacts attributable to back-country outdoor recreation involving motorized vehicles in New Mexico
For purposes of this study, back-country outdoor recreation refers to outdoor recreational activities that require or materially benefit from the use of motorized vehicles.
This exercise goes beyond a strict “Off-Highway Vehicle study” because the legal definition of an OHV is too limiting to portray the true impacts to the economies of rural communities, from off-highway recreation involving motorized vehicles and specialized vehicles supporting off-the-highway recreational activities. Motorized access to the back-country supports many forms of recreation, including those involving a vehicle, equipment, or activity that may not by itself be defined as OHV recreation.
The survey is designed to take from five to ten minutes for a typical participant. The more activities you enjoy, the longer this might take. Please answer only for yourself and please take as long as you like; in order to be thorough. All the information you can provide will be helpful in keeping back country access open to all.
