Scholastic Duties & Responsibilities for NWCA State Representatives (2026-2027)

The duties and responsibilities are as follows:
  1. Must be a current member of the NWCA.
  2. Collaborate with the Coaches Association and coaches in your state to select the scholastic award recipients for the following categories:
    1. Scholastic Coach of the Year (Boys & Girls)
    2. Assistant Coaching Staff of the Year (Boys & Girls)
      • (Selections must be submitted online by Date Sunday, April 11, 2027) 
  3. Promote participation in the NWCA High School Awards. (In the NWCA Community)
    1. Scholar All-American (Jan. 4 – March 14, 2027)
    2. Character & Leadership All-American (Jan. 4 – March 14, 2027)
  4. Attend the NWCA Convention scheduled for July 30-Aug. 1, 2027 in Austin, TX.
    1. Identify a proxy from your state to represent your state if you are unable to attend.
  5. Access the NWCA Community and complete tasks determined by the NWCA and participate in discussion groups.
    1. Participate in a Fall conference call to review NWCA initiatives.

  6. Return all NWCA Surveys promptly.
  7. Work with the NWCA and your state wrestling clinic/meeting to get the NWCA on the agenda to share the State of the Union presentation.
  8. Verify that the online profile of your state’s wrestling structure, important dates, and its associations are accurate. State Profile Map
  9. Work with the NWCA’s Director of Coaching Development to host a Scholastic Leadership Academy in your state.
  10. Promote the Wrestlers in Business Network (WIBN) Career Platform for High School Coaches and Wrestlers.
  11. Promote the Flowreslting tools.
