AHS Robotic Hernia Repair Lab & Mentorship Program - Nov 2026

Thank you for your interest in the American Hernia Society’s advanced educational program - featuring a hands-on cadaveric lab and a year-long mentorship journey designed to refine surgeon proficiency in robotic hernia repair while learning directly from global leaders in abdominal wall reconstruction.

November 10-11, 2026 | Intuitive Training Facility, Peachtree Corners, GA (near Atlanta)

This highly competitive program accepts a limited number of participants each cycle.

Selected applicants will receive:

  • Complimentary course registration
  • Up to $500 USD reimbursement for travel
  • Complimentary Hotel Night for Nov 10th at a nearby venue
  • Invitation to the pre-lab faculty dinner experience
  • A full-day hands-on cadaveric robotic hernia lab with close faculty instruction
  • A 12-month structured mentorship program with expert case guidance
  • Certificate of Completion awarded by AHS

Eligibility Requirements

To be considered, applicants must:

  • Have completed all da Vinci Xi or dV5 online system fundamentals modules through Intuitive Learning
  • Have completed an in-person da Vinci system in-service/bootcamp with an Intuitive representative
  • Have performed at least 20 robotic cases prior to application
  • Be console competent for basic robotic tasks as verified by their attending/program
  • Have ongoing access to a 4th or 5th generation da Vinci system at their institution
  • Have a home mentor performing at least 50 robotic hernia cases annually who will support their participation
  • Be familiar with ventral hernia repair, TAR, component separation techniques, and related anatomy
