Study Title: The Prostate Cancer BEACON (Barriers, Education, Awareness, Care, Outcomes, and Needs) Survey

Study Funding: ZERO Prostate Cancer runs this study. Six companies donated money to help pay for it: AstraZeneca, BioNTech, Blue Earth Diagnostics, Curium Pharma, Lantheus, and Novartis.



Introduction and Goal

We invite you to join a research study about prostate cancer. We want to learn about health knowledge, screening habits, care experiences, and barriers to care. You are asked to join if you are a patient, survivor, person at risk, caregiver, or healthcare professional.

What You Will Do

If you choose to join, you will answer one online survey. It asks about your health history, care experiences, healthcare barriers, and basic background info. The survey takes about 12 to 20 minutes to finish.

Joining is Voluntary

Joining is completely up to you. You can choose not to join, skip any question, or stop taking the survey at any time. You will not lose any medical care or benefits if you stop. 

How To Withdraw Your Information

  • Before Submitting: You can stop taking part at any time by closing your web browser. If you close your browser before submitting, your answers will not be saved or used.

  • After Submitting: This survey is completely anonymous. Because we do not collect your name or ID, we cannot delete your answers after you click submit.

Risks and Discomforts

Study risks are very low. Some questions ask about your medical past or feelings, which may make you feel uncomfortable. You can stop the survey at any time.

Benefits

You will not get paid, and there is no direct personal reward or health benefit for joining. However, your answers will help doctors and support groups fix care barriers and improve future care.

Privacy and Anonymity

This survey is private and anonymous.

  • We do not ask for your name, phone number, or computer IP address. No one can link your answers back to you.

  • All survey data travels over a safe, locked web link.

  • At the end of the survey, you can choose to give your email address for future studies. If you share your email, we store it away from your survey answers so your identity stays hidden.
