Contra Loma Aquatic and Recreation Planning Community Survey

Overview

East Bay Regional Park District (the Park District) is exploring possibilities for continued aquatic recreation at Contra Loma Regional Park, an important community resource that is no longer available due to ongoing mechanical and maintenance issues of the existing swim lagoon facility.  In 2024, the Park District enlisted a consultant to conduct an initial evaluation and cost estimation for renovating and re-opening the swim lagoon, while meeting minimum accessibility and public safety requirements.  After the estimated cost came in at a range of $10 million to $14 million the Park District determined it was important that any project that moves forward at Contra Loma is aligned with the interests and priorities of the community it serves.

As one part of the community engagement process, this survey is an opportunity to tell the Park District about your priorities, needs, and wants for the future of swimming, aquatic recreation and other potential recreational amenities at Contra Loma Regional Park. What do you like about the swim lagoon? What are other types of swimming, aquatic experiences, or other recreational activities that could be good replacements for the swim lagoon? This survey is open to all members of the public, including existing and future visitors to Contra Loma.

This survey will take approximately 3 minutes. Your input shapes this project. Please answer all the questions as best you can. All responses will remain anonymous. Thank you!
