Welcome!

The Fields Institute invites you to propose research projects for the 2027 Fields Undergraduate Summer Research Program for competitively selected students under your supervision. We highly recommend you work with a colleague or postdoc to ensure the students receive as much support as possible.

(This form is also used to collect project proposals for FUSRP-Shanghai 2027 & AARMS REU 2027.)

FUSRP 2027 is expected to be running from June 1 to July 31, 2027 at the Fields Institute (Toronto, ON) or Western University (London, ON).

Each year, up to 40 students (3-4 students per project) are selected out of hundreds of applicants to participate in FUSRP. FUSRP welcomes students enrolled in mathematics-related disciplines from colleges and universities around the world. 

FUSRP typically matches a group of three to four excellent students with each approved research project, and it runs for nine weeks each summer. While most students will be at the Fields Institute in person, we also welcome applications from supervisors who wish to supervise remotely.

Most program funding supports student expenses.

Selected projects will be posted on the FUSRP 2027 webpage by November 2026.
