Emerging Leader Award Nominations 2027

The Emerging Leader Award is given to an early career professional who is a member of ACPA for at least 3 and not more than 15 years, who exhibits exemplary accomplishment and dedication to the issues affecting people with cleft and craniofacial conditions. 

After nomination by a member of the Association and review of his or her qualifications by the Awards and Scholarships Selection Panel, a candidate may be granted the Emerging Leader Award by a two-thirds majority approval of the Board of Directors.

4. Upload a letter of support. This letter should provide details of the candidate’s accomplishments and contributions that are deemed worthy of the ACPA Emerging Leader Award as identified by the following criteria:
  • Record of leadership demonstrated through publications, presentations, and/or service related to issues affecting people with cleft and craniofacial conditions. Identify specific examples of leadership and accomplishments.
  • Significance and impact of candidate’s activities on the cleft/craniofacial field
  • Personal traits such as integrity, creativity and professionalism
  • Activities as a positive role model for the Association and professional peers
  • Involvement with ACPA and other organizations
