About the SurveyApprenticeships for America (AFA) and
Education Northwest (EDNW) are conducting this survey to learn more about organizations that serve as apprenticeship intermediaries across the United States.
The survey asks about your organization's role in apprenticeship, the services you provide, funding and capacity, outcomes, challenges, and future priorities.
Your responses will help create the inaugural
Apprenticeship Intermediaries Field Report, providing the first national overview of apprenticeship intermediaries and informing future research, policy, and practice.
Who Should Complete This Survey?
Apprenticeship intermediaries can include many different types of organizations, including community-based organizations, workforce development boards, education and training providers, industry or labor organizations, nonprofits, for-profit organizations, and government agencies.
Organizations may play many different roles. Some directly sponsor apprenticeship programs as joint or group sponsors on behalf of employers. Others support apprenticeship through employer engagement, program development, technical assistance, recruitment, coordination, funding, or other activities.
If your organization supports employers in starting, administering, or running Registered Apprenticeship programs, we encourage you to complete the survey.
Please submit
one survey per organization. The survey should be completed by the person who knows the organization's apprenticeship work best.
What to Expect
- The survey takes about 10 minutes to complete.
- It includes five sections with mostly multiple-choice questions.
- Participation is voluntary.
- You may skip any question or stop the survey at any time.
Thank You for Participating
As a thank you for completing the survey:
- Receive a $50 discount code toward an AFA membership.
- Enter a raffle to win one of five free registrations to the 2027 AFA Summit.
To enter the raffle and/or receive future updates from AFA, you will be asked to complete a separate contact form with your email address. This keeps your contact information separate from your survey responses.
Privacy and Confidentiality
Your responses will be kept
confidential.
Survey data will be stored on secure systems at EDNW. Only the EDNW research team and approved AFA staff will have access to the survey data.
Your responses will be combined with those of other participants and reported only in summary form. We will not identify you or your organization in reports, presentations, publications, or other public materials.
De-identified survey responses may also be used by AFA for future research on apprenticeship intermediaries, including studies that examine changes over time.
Risks and Benefits
The risks of participating in this survey are minimal. Although we will not identify you or your organization in any reports or publications, there is a small chance that someone could recognize your organization based on its responses. We will reduce this risk by securely storing survey data and reporting results only in summary form.
While you may not benefit directly from participating, your responses will help AFA and EDNW better understand apprenticeship intermediaries and strengthen future research, policy, and practice that support the field.
