Compete for the title of Mobile's Stein Hoisting Champion!
Participants will compete to see who can hoist their stein the longest! Winners from each division will receive a trophy and the title of Mobile's Stein Hoisting Champion. The competition will take place October 3rd, 2026 at 7 pm in Cathedral Square.
Competition is limited to 12 participants per division. Alternates will be permitted on the day of the event in case competitors do not show.
How to Compete and Win:
The competitor who can hold their stein the longest with their arm extended at a 90-degree angle, without being eliminated by the judge(s), will be declared the winner. Any infraction of the competition rules will result in disqualification. Once the judge signals the start of the competition, participants must immediately lift and extend their stein and may not set it down or switch hands.
RULES
- Must be 21 years or older to participate.
- 12 competitors per men's division and 12 competitors per women's division.
- Use the provided full stein and hold it with one hand only.
- Keep your arm straight, fully extended, and parallel to the ground.
- Hold the stein directly in front of you.
- Keep your free hand at your side; do not support your arm or the stein.
- No leaning, bracing, or excessive movement.
- No switching hands or setting the stein down.
- Any spilled liquid results in immediate disqualification.
One Men's Champion and One Women's Champion will be crowned Mobile's Stein Hoisting Champion!
