Thank you for your interest in Center for Energy and Environment (CEE) research project:
CARD Heating Load Estimates and Duct Performance Diagnostics for Successful ASHP Retrofit Installations funded through the Minnesota Department of Commerce.
The goal of this project is to evaluate methods to calculate design heating loads and determine the type of duct system improvements needed for effective retrofit installations of all-electric and dual fuel air source heat pumps (ASHPs) in centrally ducted distribution systems in out-state Minnesota
Qualified sites will meet the following requirements:
- Have a centrally ducted forced air furnace or heat pump
- System does not use high velocity duct systems
If qualified, CEE staff will reach out. Participants will receive $100 for participation in the project. If selected, participants agree to one day of testing that will be approximately 4 hours. Field staff will need access to all rooms in the home to take few minute measurements at supply and return registers, and they will need clear access to the utility room by the HVAC system.
To determine your eligibility for participation in the project, please fill out this survey. This survey will take approximately 5 minutes to complete.
