3. Preparedness: I understand that this trip requires good aerobic conditioning, balance, and the skills and gear to hike appropriately and with confidence for MULTIPLE DAYS IN A ROW. For this trip, you must be qualified for the 3 most difficult hikes which are rated MODERATE per The Mountaineers Hiking Standards (read the Hiking Standards, here). I certify that I will be prepared with the experience, skills, conditioning, and gear to meet the requirements of the trip.

4. Route: I understand that hikes on this trip will involve some rocky, sandy, muddy, uneven terrain/pavement or steep stairs. I have viewed picture examples of challenging terrain on this trip (see pictures, here). I certify that I am capable of moving at a steady 1.5-2 mph pace across this kind of terrain and will be ready to provide references who can attest to my confidence on this kind of terrain.

5. Accommodations: If I have not chosen and paid the single supplement for single-occupancy accommodations, I understand that this trip will require sharing a bedroom with twin-beds with another person of the same gender who I may not initially know.

6. Food: I understand that the variety of food available will not be the same as I have at home. I understand the ability to meet special dietary needs or preferences will be accommodated to the extent possible. I agree to bring my own foods to supplement, as needed. I understand that I must disclose my needs or preferences IN ADVANCE, which includes completing the Outfitter's questionnaire which will be provided by the Trip Leader.

7. Travel Documents: I understand that I will be required to hold up-to-date travel documents, international medical insurance, and emergency evacuation insurance for the trip, at my own expense. The evacuation insurance should be sufficient to get me back to the hospital of my choice in the United States.

8. Teamwork: I understand that this is a group trip and that participants will look out for and support each other on the trail. Pace, daily start-end times, route and side trips will be driven by the needs of the group and conditions on the ground.

9. Leadership: I understand that safety and well-being of participants comes first and the itinerary and route may change without prior notice based on conditions. While participant input will be valued, the Mountaineers trip leader will be the ultimate decision maker.

10. Responsibility: I understand that the Mountaineers trip leaders are not guides and that I am responsible for knowing the route and where I am along the way at all times.

11. Fitness and Medical Conditions: I commit to providing a doctor’s certification of medical fitness if requested, and to disclose to the leader and outfitter in advance of the trip about any recent injuries, surgeries, allergies, medications or medical conditions that could impact me on the trip.

12. Behavior: I commit to behave during the trip in a careful and safe manner, to communicate to the leader promptly about any illness or injury, and to put my health and safety and that of my fellow group members first even if this means having to turn around or exit the trip early.

I commit to follow The Mountaineers Global Adventures Respiratory Illness policy (link) to support everyone in the group staying healthy and not passing illness on to other group members during the trip!

Participants and leader(s) must be fully vaccinated to participate in the trip. This includes the most recent boosters for which I am eligible.
In addition, participants are asked to practice conservative respiratory-illness-prevention behavior before and during transit to the trip including masking at airport and in planes and avoiding crowded indoor spaces whenever possible.
Participants and leader(s) are expected to self-test proactively during the trip if they experience a symptom commonly related to COVID. I agree to let the GA Trip Leader know so that the leader can monitor. Any positive test or significant contagious symptoms will mean that the participant will need to wear a mask and isolate from the rest of the group members as much as possible until they no longer have a fever and their symptoms have mostly gone away (this could include moving out of a shared hotel room to a separate room - at their own expense - or if symptoms are severe enough, may be asked to stay at a nearby lodging while the group goes on).

I understand that in general, refunds will not be available once I have paid my deposit and registered for the trip. I further understand that, if I must cancel but am able to find a replacement well in advance of the trip departure, I may be able to get a refund of some or all of my prior trip payments less a $100 administrative fee and any non-refundable or incremental costs associated with my cancellation. I understand this option is only available until February 13, 2027. Final payment is due February 14, 2027, after which I will not be eligible for any refund.
