PURPOSE
The 2027 Global Ties Network Honors recognize dedicated professionals within our Network who demonstrate excellence in supporting the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP). These honorees will be nominated and selected by their peers for their extraordinary work on this flagship program to support U.S. foreign policy priorities and drive positive benefits for local communities and in the United States.

Note on Eligibility: Individuals who received Global Ties Network Honors in 2026 or 2025 or received the Network Innovation Award in 2024 are ineligible for this year’s award. Representatives of Global Ties U.S. and the Office of International Visitors are also ineligible as nominees.

SELECTION CRITERIA
Honorees will be selected based on the strength of their nomination and contribution to the IVLP according to the selection criteria below:
- Nominee delivers excellence in support of the IVLP, with positive impact on visiting international leaders, the local community, and/or IVLP colleagues.
- Nominee goes above and beyond their core job responsibilities to support the International Visitor Leadership Program.
- Nominee embodies and reflects the values upheld by the Global Ties Network, supporting transformative professional experiences for participants and benefits for local communities at home.
Nominations should include a 200-300 word description that captures how the Nominee meets one or more of the criteria above. Please be precise and clear in your description, citing specific examples where possible. (Note: Your nomination is key in helping the selection committee understand the merit of your nomination. It may also be read aloud at the 2027 National Meeting).
TIMELINE AND SELECTION PROCESS
The selection committee will comprise peers and Network leaders and will meet in the fall of 2026 to review nominations. The awards will be announced and presented at the 2027 Global Ties U.S. National Meeting, which will take place from Wednesday, February 17, to Friday, February 19, in Washington, DC. (Note: We cannot provide travel accommodation for nominees).
