Workshop Description
Join us for an interactive, hands-on workshop designed to help Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) operators explore the core elements of Farm to CACFP. Participants will learn practical strategies for sourcing local foods, implementing nutrition and agriculture-based education, developing edible gardening activities, engaging families, and sustaining Farm to CACFP efforts over time. Through guided activities, real-world examples, and peer learning, participants will gain tools and resources they can use in their own programs.
Target Audience
This workshop is designed for child care centers and Head Start programs interested in starting, strengthening, or expanding their Farm to CACFP efforts.
Who should attend:
- Child care centers and Head Start programs serving children ages 2–5;
- Beginners who are new to Farm to CACFP;
- Programs looking to strengthen or expand Farm to CACFP efforts; and
- Administrators, educators, food service staff, and other program personnel involved in menu planning, nutrition and agriculture-based education, edible gardening, or family engagement.
Participants will:
- Gain practical strategies to support Farm to CACFP implementation.
- Explore ready-to-use resources and tools designed for programs serving children ages 2–5.
- Develop an action plan tailored to programs’ unique needs and capacity.
