The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine is seeking suggestions for experts to participate in an anticipated consensus report on The Agentic AI Revolution and its Impact on the on the Planning, Assessment, Investment, and Accelerated Transition to the Field of Department of War's Materials Science & Technology Enterprise. National Academies staff will use these suggestions to identify approximately 12 volunteer experts who might serve as consensus committee members. In addition, the suggestions will help staff identify potential speakers and peer reviewers for the eventual publication.

Based on the anticipated survey statement of task, staff are particularly seeking expertise focused on Agentic AI and AI for decision making, reflective of the breadth of the related applications community in materials science, technology, and engineering. In addition to core scientific disciplines, the survey is expected to benefit from stronger participation by the defense materials, manufacturing, and infrastructure community, recognizing that innovation in this domain is occurring across a distributed ecosystem that spans the private sector, academia, and major federally funded research efforts. As such, the study places significant emphasis on partnership models and ecosystem engagement, asking how the Department can effectively collaborate with, access, and help shape external innovation. Staff are therefore seeking expertise particularly in the following areas: multi-agent AI systems, AI for evaluation and human intelligence, defense materials science and technology issues, defense manufacturing and industrial issues. Individual members may have expertise in more than one category.

The National Academies value a wide range of perspectives to strengthen the quality of our work. We carefully consider alternative viewpoints when formulating advice, convening experts with differing experience and perspectives, providing oversight, and conducting all other activities, and strive to foster an environment where all can participate fully. We welcome your suggestions for a broad range of experts to work with us.
