Introduction
In 2025, the City of Evanston passed the
Healthy Buildings Ordinance which is a new policy intended to lower carbon pollution, while promoting affordability and cost savings in residential buildings bigger than 20,000 square feet. Evanston is dedicated to ensuring that this law is applied fairly to everyone and will work to prevent any hardships it could cause. To that end, we are interested in hearing and learning more about the building you live in, your utility costs, and your use of energy. The city of Evanston is working in collaboration with the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (
ACEEE) and
Connections for the Homeless to distribute this survey, collect responses, and distribute gift cards.
Your information will be confidential and no identifying information will be shared, so please answer each question truthfully and carefully as much as possible. We expect this survey will take you about
7 minutes to complete. You may opt into receiving a $25 gift card after you complete the survey. We will distribute gift cards to the first 200 respondents. This is optional and you will need to fill out a separate survey form to receive the gift card.
