Are you passionate about philanthropy, service, and the mission of the Foundation of the AAGL (FAAGL)? FAAGL is now accepting nominations for qualified individuals to serve on the Foundation Board of Directors.
Together, the FAAGL Board of Directors advances and supports AAGL initiatives in research, global outreach, recognition of scientific achievement, mentorship, education, and other strategic priorities that strengthen the field and improve women's health worldwide.
Board service is an opportunity to contribute your judgment, experience, relationships, creativity, professional credibility, and commitment to a meaningful philanthropic mission. FAAGL welcomes applicants who are eager to serve, learn, grow, open doors, strengthen relationships, and help put their unique skills and contributions to good and valuable use in support of FAAGL and AAGL.
When selecting nominees, consideration is given to how each candidate's experience, knowledge, perspective, service orientation, ability to cultivate relationships and commitment to philanthropic support will add value, diversity, and cohesiveness to the FAAGL Board of Directors.
Nominees must be active AAGL members in good standing.
FAAGL is currently accepting nominations for the positions listed below. To be considered for a role or to nominate a qualified individual, please complete the application by Monday, August 31, 2026, PT.
Secretary-Treasurer – One Position Open
Length of Term: The Secretary-Treasurer will serve a total of four (4) years: first, as Secretary-Treasurer; second, as Vice President; third, as President; and fourth, as Immediate Past President. The term of office will commence on January 1st of the subsequent year.
Eligibility: The Secretary-Treasurer nominee must have previously served as a Director on the AAGL Board of Directors or as a Director of the FAAGL Board of Directors.
Description of Position: Attend all FAAGL Board meetings as a voting member. Keep records of all Executive Committee and Board meetings. Oversee financial affairs including revenues and disbursements according to GAAP. Perform all duties of Secretary and Treasurer of a nonprofit corporation.
Director-At-Large
Length of Term: Director terms will be three (3) years. Individuals may serve for a maximum of two (2) consecutive terms as a Director. The term of office will commence on January 1, 2027, and end December 31, 2030.
Eligibility: Active AAGL members no currently service on another AAGL Board, and who have not had more than one prior term as Director-at-Large.
Description of Position: Attend all FAAGL Board meetings as a voting member. Provide oversight of the Foundation's business and affairs. Guide the Foundation to fulfill its mission. Participate in fundraising and promotion of fundraising initiatives.
Board service is a philanthropic leadership role. Board members contribute through time, expertise, judgment, relationships, advocacy, professional credibility, personal example, and financial support consistent with their capacity and board-adopted expectations. Each board member is expected to contribute meaningfully, continue learning, strengthen their understanding of foundation governance and philanthropy, and act as a positive ambassador for FAAGL and AAGL.
