We take data protection and privacy seriously. We review our Data Protection Policy annually and we will place any updates on our website.

About Eido Research

Eido Research Limited is a research consultancy and as such is registered as a Data Controller and Data Processor with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office.

This means as a Data Controller, we decide what personal information we need and how your personal data is collected, analysed, shared, stored, archived or deleted. When we design our data collection, we ensure that we only collect the information that is essential for our projects and that you give us consent to do so. Details of other organisations’ involvement will be provided in the participation information sheet, should they participate in one of our projects.

For the purposes of this project, Eido Research is the Data Controller. Only anonymised data will be shared with other parties.

We at Eido Research will always ensure that our data collection and handling is in line with the data protection law and principles, which means that your data will be:

Used lawfully, fairly and in a transparent way.
Collected only for valid purposes that we have clearly explained to you and not used in any way that is incompatible with those purposes.
Relevant to the purposes we have told you about and limited only to those purposes.
Accurate and kept up to date.
Kept only as long as necessary for the purposes we have told you about.
Kept securely.

What information do we collect about you?

‘Personal data’ means any information that can identify you directly (e.g. name, date of birth, address, email address, phone number) or indirectly (your thoughts or opinions).

We collect personal data which is relevant and necessary for research purposes. All data is held by consent, given at the point of data collection (i.e. a respondent filling out an online survey).

We collect data either in face to face interviews, focus groups or using a secure online platform (such as Alchemer). Information online is collected through programs that have numerous anti-hacking measures, firewalls, and constant security scans.

How will we use the information about you?

Keeping your data

We store personal data on encrypted hard drives.

Sharing data

Your personal data is kept safe and confidential at all times.

We do not share personal data with any other organisations, unless it is clearly stated in our participant information sheet and consent form.

Delivering data to our clients

If we are conducting a survey on behalf of another organisation, the final information returned to the client organisation is completely anonymous (it does not have your name on it unless you have chosen to reveal your identity during the survey).

Publishing the data

We use current best practice to ensure that no individual can be identified from the trends and statistics in our publications. We select quotes sensitively and publish under pseudonyms.

Your rights

Your information still belongs to you and you can withdraw your consent for us to hold your information at any time. By law, with regards to your personal data, you have rights:

• The right to access – You have the right to request for copies of your personal data.
• The right to rectification – You have the right to request that we correct any information you believe is inaccurate. You also have the right to request to complete the information you believe is incomplete.
• The right to erasure – You have the right to request that we erase your personal data, under certain conditions.
• The right to restrict processing – You have the right to request that we restrict the processing of your personal data, under certain conditions.
• The right to object to processing – You have the right to object to us processing of your personal data, under certain conditions.
• The right to data portability – You have the right to request that we transfer the data that we have collected to another organization, or directly to you, under certain conditions.
