A FSIS Small Plant Session will be held at West Texas A&M University following the AMSA Reciprocal Meat Conference. This free program gives small and very small processors direct access to FSIS, USDA Rural Development, the Small Business Administration, and faculty from WTAMU and Texas Tech Meat Science.

The session features:
• Hands‑on demonstrations and short discussions led by West Texas A&M and Texas Tech University faculty and staff
• Presentations from FSIS, AMS, RD, and SBA covering the regulatory journey from start‑up to full production
• Open Q&A with federal and academic experts

The following is not to be construed as legal advice, but is provided as a matter of information as to American Meat Science Association (AMSA) antitrust policy to those attending AMSA programs, events and activities (AMSA Activities). At any AMSA Activities, discussion of prices (including elements of prices such as allowances and credit terms), quality ratings of suppliers, and discussions that may cause a competitor to cease purchasing from a particular supplier, or selling to a particular customer, is prohibited. Also, there should be no discussion that might be interpreted as territory allocation. An antitrust violation does not require proof of a formal agreement. A discussion of a sensitive topic, such as price, followed by action by those involved or present at the discussion can be enough to show a price fixing conspiracy. As a result, those attending an AMSA Activities should remember the importance of avoiding not only unlawful activities, but even the appearance of an unlawful activity. As a practical matter, violations of Antitrust laws can have serious consequences (including severe penalties) for a company and its employees. Antitrust investigations and litigation are lengthy, complex, and disruptive.
