What is the Proof of Concept Fund SIG?
The proposed SIG will bring together (knowledge transfer) professionals professionals involved in the design, management, evaluation, and operation of Proof of Concept and translational funding programmes. The SIG will provide a forum for sharing experiences, challenges, and best practices related to funding early-stage innovation and supporting the journey from research results to societal and commercial impact.
What will the SIG focus on?
- Establishing and managing PoC funds
- Fund governance and decision-making processes
- Project selection and evaluation criteria
- Investment committees and review panels
- Measuring outcomes, impact, and return on investment
- Supporting researchers and innovators through the PoC process
- Funding models, sustainability, and partnerships
- Sharing successes, failures, and lessons learned
What is the SIG not intended for?
- A fundraising or investor matchmaking platform
- A forum for promoting specific funding products or commercial services
- A vehicle for pitching individual projects
