2026 NAAE National #TeachAg Day Breakout 2.0 Challenge

2026 NAAE National #TeachAg Day Breakout 2.0 Challenge

Join NAAE in a celebration of Agricultural Education on National #TeachAg Day, September 17, 2026!

How will you celebrate NAAE National #TeachAg Day this year? Whether it’s a classroom party, a community service activity, or a screening of It Starts in the Classroom, we love to see the unique and exciting ways you celebrate the career of agricultural education.

This year, as an addition to any other activities you have planned, NAAE is inviting your students to Break Out of Ordinary 2.0 with our NAAE National #Teach Ag Day Breakout 2.0 Challenge.

The challenge is designed for high school students to work as a team, solving breakout-style puzzles. Along the way, they will both learn about the career of agricultural education and how each of their unique skills, talents and personalities will be an asset if they choose a career as an agricultural educator. *If you completed the challenge last year, please note this is an entirely different challenge.

Sign up below to get reminders and step-by-step directions on how to sign up and register your students as well as run your in-class Breakout of Ordinary 2.0 Challenge.

Here’s how the challenge will work:

  • NAAE will email you with the digital challenge package to prepare for the Breakout 2.0 Challenge.
  • You will create a Teacher Account and pre-register your teams for the Breakout 2.0 Challenge
  • On #TeachAg Day, your students will complete the #TeachAg Breakout Challenge in class and post their time and team picture on NAAE’s Breakout Wall.
  • The team with the best time wins! Glory, fame and a potential career as an agricultural educator are all at stake.
  • Students will be engaged in a fun learning activity, discover why their unique skills are needed in agricultural education, why they might want to become agriculture teachers, and compete with other students and programs across the United States.
  • Teachers will gain a fun new way to teach about the career of agricultural education they can use

To participate in the challenge, you will need to consider and plan for the following things:

  • Plan for active participation throughout the day on September 17th, 2026 with at least one team of 5 students. More teams are highly encouraged. Don't let your students miss out on the fun!
  • Plan for at least one digital device for each team for the Breakout Challenge.
  • Have access to the Breakout Challenge website on September 17th, 2026
  • At least one device with access to social media on September 17, 2026 to post about NAAE National #TeachAg Day activities.
  • After September 17th, complete a quick survey about the impact of your #TeachAg Day celebration.
  • Willingness to provide pictures and/or video of your group participating in the NAAE #TeachAg Break Out 2.0 challenge activity is highly encourage.

Challenge spots are limited, so sign up now and make plans to Break Out of Ordinary 2.0 with your students this #TeachAg Day!
