ABOUT THIS COMMUNITY OF PRACTICE
Imagine a world where everyone truly felt like they were listened to. Imagine what classroom discussions would sound like, what conversations between colleagues would feel like, what the body language would look like of people at a board meeting where everyone who was sharing was actually being heard by the people around them. This doesn’t mean that people necessarily agree. Oftentimes, when we are deeply listening, we will find something that is different from our own perspective. We also may find a way of seeing, thinking, and feeling that we have not yet considered. In this Community of Practice, facilitated by Carolene Joy Cabrera King, we will learn about the transformative art of Deep Listening, learn tools for listening deeply to others, especially across lines of difference and through tension, and build community with other leaders seeking to lead for equity, toward a tomorrow that works better for all students, educators, and communities.
