Introduction

Clean Fleet EV and EV Charging Program Application

Through the Clean Fleet EV and EV Charging Program, local, state and nonprofit entities are eligible for incentives toward the purchase of new and certified pre-owned battery electric vehicles (BEVs), Level 2 charging stations and direct current fast charger (DCFC) stations for their fleet charging. Please review the Program Terms and Conditions and List of Compliant Network Service Providers for full equipment and program requirements and to assist with equipment selection.

Awards for eligible entities include:
  • Up to $4,000 for eligible new or certified pre-owned light-duty BEVs
  • Up to $10,000 toward the purchase of eligible new or certified pre-owned Class 2B-6 BEVs
  • Up to $5,000 per public Level 2 charging station (up to 90% of the cost of the charging station)
  • Up to $4,000 per fleet Level 2 charging station that is not available to the public (up to 90% of the cost of the charging station)
  • For DCFC stations:
    • Up to $60,000 per 50-100 kW DCFC station (up to 90% of the cost of the charging station)
    • Up to $100,000 per 100-200 kW DCFC station (up to 90% of the cost of the charging station)
    • Up to $180,000 per 201+ kW DCFC station (up to 90% of the cost of the charging station)
  • Up to $5,000 toward make-ready equipment for fleet Level 2 charging equipment (up to 50% of cost)
  • Up to $50,000 toward the make-ready equipment for fleet DCFC stations (up to 50% of cost)
Overburdened Municipalities are eligible for increased incentives. An additional $5,000 is available for DCFC stations if they are ENERGY STAR® certified.

For charging stations, eligible costs include the cost of the charger, taxes, delivery and activation fees and charger warranty. Eligible entities include state agencies, state boards or commissions, counties, county authorities, municipalities, municipal commissions, state universities, community colleges, local schools and non-profit entities. Award caps are based on population.

Please have the following information available before completing this application:
  • Address(es) for charging station location(s).
  • A Letter of Authorization to apply (If you are not the owner of the project site).
  • Employer Identification Number for the entity applying.
  • Current IRS Form 990 or 990-EZ showing a minimum of $50,000 in gross receipts (If you are applying as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization)
