Parent Survey on MMR Vaccines

WELCOME

We are looking for parents to participate in a new research study focused on understanding parents who overcame their concerns about the MMR vaccine.  We are particularly interested in hearing from parents who were previously skeptical, then changed their minds, and decided to vaccinate their child(ren). 

We hope to better understand the concerns and factors that influence parental decisions about vaccines. If you would like to participate in this research, review the information below. As a thank-you for your time, participants who complete the survey will be entered into a raffle for one of multiple $50 Amazon gift cards.

INFORMED CONSENT TO PARTICIPATE IN RESEARCH

Study Title: Profiling Parents Who Overcame MMR Vaccine Hesitancy

Purpose of This Study You are being invited to participate in a research study examining why some parents who were once hesitant about the MMR vaccine ultimately decided to vaccinate their children. The goal of this research is to better understand what influences vaccine decision-making, which may help improve how public health information is communicated to families in the future.

Who Can Participate You are eligible to participate if you are 18 years of age or older, are a parent or legal guardian, previously had doubts or concerns about the MMR vaccine for your child, and have since changed your mind and had your child vaccinated.

What You Will Be Asked to Do If you choose to participate, you will complete an online survey that takes approximately 10 minutes. The survey asks about your past vaccine concerns, what influenced your change in thinking, current views, and experiences. There are no right or wrong answers; we are interested in your personal experience.

Risks   The risks of participating in this study are minimal. Some questions ask you to reflect on past beliefs or experiences that may feel sensitive or uncomfortable. You are free to skip any question you do not wish to answer or to stop at any time. There is also a possible risk of loss of confidentiality.

Benefits There is no direct benefit to you for participating. However, your responses will contribute to research that may help public health professionals better understand and support families navigating vaccine decisions.

Compensation   As a thank-you for your time, participants who complete the survey will be entered into a raffle for one of multiple $50 Amazon gift cards. Winners will be selected randomly and notified via email. Raffle administration is conducted separately from your survey responses to protect your confidentiality.

Confidentiality  Your responses will be kept confidential. This survey is hosted on Alchemer, a secure online survey platform. Alchemer stores your responses on secure servers and uses encryption to keep your information safe during transmission and storage. The research team will only access your responses through a password-protected account.

Voluntary Participation Your participation is completely voluntary. You may skip any question, stop at any time, or withdraw from the study without penalty or consequence. Choosing not to participate or withdrawing will have no negative effects of any kind.
