Your perspective is invited and welcome!
We are excited to share with you proposals for the evolution of IAP2’s Spectrum of P2/Engagement. The changes being proposed are based on multiple rounds of engagement with practitioners around the globe. Hundreds of hours of project team analysis, experimentation and discussion has taken place to bring us to this point.
There are four different concepts for your feedback including an updated purpose statement, degrees of influence on the Spectrum and supporting graphics, along with the introduction of a new companion resource. For each one, we are asking you how well the concepts meet a set of assessment criteria, and also to ask whether you can support the proposed evolutions.
The survey will be open until
17 June 2026. It is anticipated that it will take you 10-15 minutes to complete it, longer if you spend time reviewing the materials that led us to this point.
After the survey closes, we will refine the Spectrum concepts as needed to make sure we get as close as possible to an evolved Spectrum with broad applicability and support.

A note about Terminology
IAP2 International uses the phrase “P2/Engagement” as a global term that can be regionalised to local equivalents: public participation, public engagement and community engagement. The term used may need to be adjusted to fit local context.
