System of Care Advisory Council Application

The System of Care Advisory Council (SOCAC) brings together youth, families, community members, providers, advocates, and system partners from across North Carolina to help strengthen the statewide System of Care.

SOCAC members help:

  • Provide guidance on policy and program development
  • Identify gaps and opportunities within systems
  • Help agencies and communities work together
  • Elevate youth, family, and lived experience voice
  • Help improve supports and services for children, youth, and families

SOCAC includes:

  • Leadership Council Members who help guide priorities and make recommendations
  • General Members who contribute through discussion, feedback, and committee participation

We welcome applicants with a wide range of experiences, perspectives, and backgrounds.

The structure of SOCAC and this application process were informed by feedback from more than 300 survey participants and multiple statewide co-design sessions involving youth, families, community members, providers, advocates, and system partners.

Selection Process

SOCAC membership will be selected to help ensure a diverse and representative group from across North Carolina, including youth, families, community members, providers, advocates, and system partners. The selection process will consider a variety of perspectives, experiences, geographic regions, and areas of system involvement to help build a collaborative and balanced council.
