Introduction
Council is committed to preventing, detecting, reporting and responding to fraud and corruption across all areas of its operations.
A recent review of our existing governance framework identified opportunities to further strengthen its approach to managing fraud and corruption risks. This includes enhancing measures to prevent and detect misconduct, particularly in an environment shaped by evolving digital communication and increasing community expectations for transparency and accountability.
We've now created a draft policy which is in alignment with council’s MV2040 Theme: Trusted – Dharrndun, which was adopted to strengthen the trusted relationship between Council and the community.
Before the policy is presented for final endorsement, feedback will be gathered from community members and key stakeholders, including staff and Council’s Audit and Risk Committee.
