One of the best ways to get involved with the AAGL is by joining a committee. Committee service offers valuable opportunities to build relationships with peers, gain insight into and influence over AAGL initiatives and processes, and develop leadership experience through meaningful service. Each committee appointment is a three-year commitment, which begins in January 2027. Committee members must be AAGL members.
The following committees are now accepting applications:
Ethics Committee (2 positions open) – The AAGL Ethics Committee alerts the Board of Directors of ethical issues that arise, reviews ethical considerations that are brought to their attention, formulates recommended responses and actions on any such deliberations, and identifies significant conflicts of interests.
Membership and Engagement Committee (1 position open) – The AAGL Membership and Engagement Committee reviews trends in AAGL membership and provides recommendations to the Board to support member recruitment, retention, and overall engagement. The committee also evaluates issues related to diversity and inclusion brought forward by AAGL members and makes recommendations to the Board to help foster a more inclusive and engaged membership community.
Publications Committee (4 positions open) – The AAGL Publications Committee reviews AAGL publications and websites and provides recommendations for ongoing improvement. Publications under the committee’s purview include NewsScope, MIGS Monthly eblast, e-bulletins, JMIG, and other current AAGL publications and communication platforms.
Please submit a separate application for each committee that you'd like to apply.
