Dear Honors Students!

Thank you for your interest in serving as a Learning Assistant for HNRS 2261. This is a new required course for students who entered Cal Poly after Fall 2026. We expect to enroll about 50 second Years this Fall 2026.

HNRS 2261 will be taught in-person on Tuesday and Thursdays 4:30pm to 5:50pm. Therefore, if you are interested in serving as a Learning Assistant you will need to leave this time available in your Fall course schedule.

Learning assistants must be 3rd or 4th years starting in Fall 2026. Students completing their learning assistant assignments receive 2 units of Honors Electives. Note: If you still need one of your Co-Curriculars you can use this to fulfill the requirement).

This is a great entry to put on your resume to show you not only have teaching experience but leadership experience. You'll have the opportunity to work with a dedicated group of other learning assistants, Honors office assistants, and faculty.
