DESE as a Partner - Workshop Thursday Series

DESE's Office for Food and Nutrition Programs is hosting workshops for School Nutrition Professionals in School Year 2026-2027. These workshops seek to accomplish specific tasks and provide an opportunity to network with members of FNP and other School Nutrition Professionals who share goals similar. These workshops are also available at no cost.
Workshop: Farm to School in Action - Innovation in the Field

Location: Framingham State University

Join DESE and Massachusetts Farm to School for an in-person workshop spotlighting innovative approaches from practitioners engaged in the 3 Cs - Classroom, Cafeteria, and Community. In addition to peer-to-peer networking, this workshop will include three interactive sessions on the following topics:
  • Classroom | Indoor Growing: Discover how practitioners are using hydroponic and other indoor growing systems to bring hands-on learning into the classroom.
  • Cafeteria | Taste Tests and Afterschool Engagement: Explore creative ways to engage students through taste tests and afterschool cooking clubs that build excitement around local foods
  • Community | Visiting Farms: Learn how community partnerships and farm experiences can connect students with local agriculture and create meaningful learning opportunities beyond the classroom.
Attendance is limited. Registration is required and available on a first come, first served basis after priority spots have been allocated.
