Preserving Dignity in Democracy is a panel discussion hosted by Interfaith America exploring the intersection of faith, civic engagement, and democratic participation in New York.
Panelists include:
- Rev. Anne Marie Witchger - Episcopal priest and faith-based public witness organizer at St. Mark's Church in the Bowery
- Nia Alvarez-Mapp - longtime civic organizer and New York's statewide election protection coordinator with Common Cause NY
- Diya Basu-Sen - award-winning gender and social justice leader and executive director of Sapna NYC
Special Guest: New York City Council Member Harvey Epstein (District 2) will be joining us to share some of the work his team is doing at the city level to ensure democracy is protected.
The conversation will focus on reframing democracy culture, expanding community engagement around elections, Know Your Rights education, and the role of faith communities in protecting and advancing democratic values—especially at the local level.
