University Bursar: Late Payment Charge Reversal

University of Illinois will assess a late payment charge of $1.00 or 1.5%, whichever is greater, per month on any delinquent balance. Account balances 60 days or more past due will be assessed a past due charge of $2.00 per month in addition to the late payment charge.

Delegated Agent is authorized to reverse late payment charges and past due charges based on the following parameters:

  • Reverse late payment charge(s) related to department specific reason
  • Reverse late payment charge(s)  for customers and/or currently enrolled students
  • Reverse only late late payment charge(s) and past due charge(s)
  • Reversal for late payment charge(s) over $500 requires University Bursar approval

To become an established Delegated Agent of University Bursar to remove late payment charges and past due penalty- remove charges, you are required to complete the Accounts Receivable Processing course and the University Bursar Delegated Agent Charge Reversal form.
