2026 JMIG Social Media Scholar Application

Thank You for your interest in becoming part of the JMIG Social Media Team as a JMIG Social Media Scholar!

JMIG Social Media Vision:
Be a voice for JMIG and the MIGS community through innovative social media avenues to disseminate evidence-based medicine as it pertains to MIGS and complex benign gynecology.

Roles & Responsibilities of a JMIG Social Media Scholar:

  • Term: 2 years (Oct 2026- December 2028)

  • Attend monthly virtual JMIG Social Media Committee Conference Meetings

  • Attend Annual AAGL Global Congress (or participate virtually or in the planning of AAGL congress)

  • Serve as JMIG Social Media Scholar representative at AAGL Global Congress

  • Participate in at least 1 JMIG social media sub-committee

  • Serve as project lead for 1 JMIG project

  • Participate as a reviewer for JMIG (optional)

  • Create and post JMIG content per committee assignments

  • Attend social media retreat in October/November 2026

  • Assist with December annual countdown as first project under mentorship of current scholar

Applicants will be required to make a mock Instagram post (visual abstract) about a JMIG article using the template provided. A visual abstract is intended to be a visual representation of an article’s conclusion and should be creative, accurate, and avoid screenshots of tables or figures from the article. Avoid interpretation or drawing conclusion not made by the authors.

  • Upload your complete visual abstract in the application below.

  • Please use Common Creative licenses when using images. You may also use Canva as an editing platform.

    • On your computer, go to images.google.com.

    • Search for an image.

    • Under the search box, click Tools.

    • To narrow results to images with available license info, click Usage rights, choose a type of license. Learn about types of usage rights.

    • Click the image you want.

    • To find info on how to license and use the image, below the image in the right panel, click License details.

 
Note: You do not have to have social media experience, but preference will be given to applicants with social media experience.
