Thanks for your interest! The
Wisconsin Medicaid Member Experience Council (MMEC) is a group of people with experience using Medicaid. The group advised Wisconsin Medicaid on how to make it better for everyone. MMEC ambassadors connect with decision makers to tell them how we can do more of what’s working, and fix what’s not working.
Your experiences make you an expert
Nobody knows Medicaid better than those who rely on it for health care. The MMEC needs two new ambassadors who have Medicaid benefits right now or in the last two years, or their caregivers. We are looking for:
- Someone living in Menominee County
- A member of a Tribal nation
Anyone with a ForwardHealth card has Medicaid.
We want the MMEC to represent many perspectives from all parts of Wisconsin.
Make Medicaid work for you
Together, we’ll build trust and pave the way for change.
MMEC ambassadors attend about eight meetings each year. We hold many meetings online, but some may be in person. Ambassadors can attend all meetings by phone if needed. Ambassadors can bring a support person if needed. Meetings are sometimes two or three hours.
MMEC ambassadors also work together on one or two special projects during the year. The MMEC chooses these projects together with help from Medicaid staff. They talk with the Medicaid Director and staff. They also get updates, have discussions, and ask questions.
The Medicaid Director selects the MMEC ambassadors. Ambassadors participate for three years.
