2026 Military Mountain Bike Camp Application

Welcome to the 2026 Military Mountain Bike Camp Application

Welcome to the 2026 Military Mountain Bike Camp Application!

The Shirley Ryan AbilityLab and the Wounded Heroes Foundation (WHF) are partnering to host a Military Mountain Bike Camp from September 13-17 2026. We welcome your application and appreciate your interest in participating.

About the Camp
If you want to try out adaptive mountain biking, this is a great camp for you!  We can provide access to off road handcycles, recumbent trikes and even upright mountain bikes to get you out on the trails. Our team will fit you to the proper equipment and provide skill sessions to help you maneuver the mountain bike on trails and over and around obstacles. The primary goal of this Military Mountain Bike Camp is to provide a developmental sport experience for Veterans and active duty military personnel with a primary physical disability. This is also a great opportunity for those who already cycle to develop their skills and enhance technical dexterity in the sport of mountain biking. Beginners are welcome and we can provide all of the necessary equipment to get you started. Participants will experience three days of trail riding and mountain biking skill development. Additional educational sessions will help holistically shape participants experience in the camp. All camp sessions will be led by elite level facilitators from the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab. Camp will conclude with participation in a local mountain bike event. Registration for that will be coordinated by the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab staff.

Flights, lodging, meals, local ground transportation, instruction, and program expenses will be provided at no cost to those accepted to attend. A refundable $50 deposit is required upon acceptance and will be returned upon completion of camp.
