The Mountaineers Public Lands Recreation Impacts Survey

Share Your Recreation Impacts Story With The Mountaineers

Over the past several years, agency staffing cuts, funding shortfalls, and natural disasters have taken a toll on Washington’s public lands where we love to recreate. As The Mountaineers advocates for increased support for land managers amid these challenges, we need your help! Have you encountered impacts like:

  • Full vault toilets or piled-up trash at campgrounds
  • Closures restricting access to your favorite recreation site
  • Storm damage obstructing trails, such as erosion, washed-out bridges, or fallen trees
  • Congested trailheads leading to unsafe parking conditions
  • Lack of ranger presence leading to safety or environmental concerns

Share your recreation impacts story through this quick 3 minute survey. We'll use your input to help inform our advocacy and demonstrate to decision-makers and the broader outdoor community the importance of adequate staffing and funding for public lands.
