Located in beautiful, vibrant Washington, D.C., the internationally recognized faculty of the National Center for Advanced Pelvic Surgery (NCAPS) at MedStar Health, train physicians with a comprehensive blend of clinical, surgical, and academic excellence in minimally invasive gynecology.
The team of fellowship-trained minimally invasive gynecologists, urogynecologists, urologists, and nurse practitioners at NCAPS focuses on the latest in minimally invasive vaginal, laparoscopic, and robot-assisted surgeries to improve the patient experience, reduce pain, and allow for a faster recovery.
The Foundation of the AAGL (FAAGL) and MedStar NCAPS recognize persistent disparities associated with access to minimally invasive gynecologic surgery. To advance meaningful progress in addressing these inequities, and to help ensure that all women receive the highest standard of care, the FAAGL, in partnership with MedStar NCAPS offers an annual award recognizing research and publication on diversity, inclusion, and access to MIGS.
The recipient of this award will be selected from either the most highly cited JMIG publication from the past two years or the highest-scoring abstract submitted to this year's Global Congress, provided the work focuses on research related to diversity, inclusion, and access in MIGS. An independent committee of up to five physicians will select the winner. If not already published, the award winner will be required to submit their full manuscript for publication in JMIG.
This Foundation Award is supported through a generous donation received by MedStar NCAPS.
