2027 Foundation of the AAGL - Harrith M. Hasson Physician from an Emerging Country Scholarship

Dr. Hasson was a true visionary, dedicated physician, and prolific inventor of surgical and educational devices and techniques. His legacy endures with the cannula and open laparoscopy techniques that bear his name. The 19th president of AAGL, Dr. Hasson was a passionate proponent of lifelong learning for surgical gynecologists.

Established in 2013 by Dr. Hasson's family, the Physician from an Emerging Country Scholarship and Award recognizes a deserving physician from a developing economy who is empowering progress in minimally invasive gynecology within their community. This scholarship provides for the winner to attend the AAGL Global Congress on Minimally Invasive Gynecology.

Award Eligibility:

Physician must be from a country that has a developing economy.
The winner must attend AAGL’s Global Congress (November 3-6, 2027) to accept the award in-person in San Diego, CA. Funding for travel will be provided.

Applications must be submitted on or before Friday, May 29, 2026 at Midnight PST.
