The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) Safe Routes to School (SRTS) program aims to make it safer for students to walk and bike to school.
Each year DDOT works with schools to create Safe Routes to School Action Plans. These plans are based on traffic and infrastructure reviews around the school, as well as input from parents, students, and school community members through this survey. Action Plans include short- and medium-term safety recommendations for DDOT to consider in the school area.
DDOT develops Action Plans for 25 schools each year, selected through a data-driven safety process. A list of current Action Plan Schools, along with past Action Plans and Improvement Summaries, is available on the
DDOT SRTS website.
To report urgent traffic safety concerns, near an Action Plan school or anywhere in the District, please call 3-1-1 or submit a request at:
https://311.dc.gov/citizen/s/
This survey takes about five minutes to complete. Please complete one survey per school. If you would like to share feedback on multiple schools, please complete a separate survey for each one.
Thank you for sharing your time and input!
