Neonatal Quality at Hot Topics 2026 | Poster Abstract Application

We will be selecting posters to be featured in the Neonatal Quality at Hot Topics poster showcase through an abstract submission and review process.

The abstract deadline is October 2, 2026.

The poster showcase will take place on December 6 from 5:00 - 6:00 p.m. as the closing event of Neonatal Quality at Hot Topics. This will be an in-person event! Posters for Quality Day will also be available for two (2) months after the conference on the conference platform. Conference registrants will be able to contact poster presenters through the conference platform to discuss their research.

Important Items
  • The primary contact person for selected abstracts will be required to register for and attend the live conference.
  • Submitted abstracts should conform to abstract guidelines listed below.
  • Electronic submission of scanned abstracts (i.e. image data files) and faxed submissions will not be accepted.
  • All posters will be presented in a physical showcase at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland.
  • Maximum of two abstracts per submitting author.
Abstract Guidelines
  • The abstract should provide a concise explanation of how you have used improvement science to pursue your project aim.
  • The body of abstract should include the following headings:  Introduction; Methods; Results; Conclusions.
  • The body of abstract should be no greater than 250 words, and should be clear, descriptive, and self-explanatory.
  • Graphs and tables may be included but are limited to one (1) page.
  • Abbreviations are discouraged except for units of measurement. The first time an abbreviation appears, it should be preceded by the words for which it stands.
  • Abstract should be written in English.
  • Encore posters (those presented at other meetings) are eligible.

In the interest of developing a more rewarding application process for everyone involved, we are providing applicants with the criteria our selection team will use to assess poster abstracts. These criteria include:

  • Clarity:  the aim is stated clearly and concisely, and the remainder of the abstract outlines how this aim was pursued.
  • Background:  sufficient information is provided to identify the quality gap being addressed by your project.
  • Relevance:  the project addresses an important or common challenge within neonatal-perinatal medicine.
  • Methods:  the project uses robust quality improvement methodology to implement evidence-based change; when possible, this change should be depicted over time using a run chart or process control chart.
  • Conclusions:  conclusions are clearly stated and justified by the results.
