Regional Skills Analysis: 2026

Introduction

Thank you for participating in the 2026 Regional Skills Analysis, supported by Wake County Economic Development, Capital Area Workforce Development, and over 100 regional partners. Please respond based on your experience at your current facility - there are no right or wrong answers. The goal is to understand skills and hiring needs faced by your organization to better inform local leaders and create a strong pipeline of workers for the region.

All responses will be confidential and anonymous. You and your organization’s name and identifying information will not be shared. For your convenience, you can save and exit an incomplete survey from the upper right corner and return to complete it later. Your participation in the survey is completely voluntary. While we do not anticipate any risk to you in participating in this survey, you can stop it at any point. The survey should take approximately 15 minutes.

Participants who complete the survey can choose to be entered to win one of several prizes from regional partners including gift cards to local businesses and a grand prize gift card worth $1,000 to the Umstead Hotel in Cary.

The survey is being conducted by RTI International, a North Carolina-based independent non-profit research institute, and is funded by Wake County Economic Development and the Capital Area Workforce Development Board. For questions about completing the survey, please email Adams Bailey, the research director at abailey@rti.org. If you have questions about your role or rights as a research participant, you can call RTI’s office of research protection at 919.316.3358 or 1.866.214.2043.
