About this survey
“Commercial” has become a key term in space policy, but it is used differently across programmes, institutions, and regions. The European Space Policy Institute (ESPI), together with The Aerospace Corporation’s Center for Space Policy and Strategy (CSPS), is examining how governments in the United States and Europe are leveraging commercial space capabilities to support clearer policymaking.
ESPI and CSPS have released an initial report, One Word, Many Approaches: A Transatlantic Look at Commercial Space Procurement. As Phase 1 of the ESPI-CSPS project, it introduces a framework describing a spectrum of commercial procurement models (Commercial-Lite, Commercial-Led, and Purely Commercial) and outlines the project's next steps (“Phase 2”).
This survey collects feedback from policymakers, industry, and academics on the framework developed in Phase 1 and on priorities for Phase 2.
The entire survey should take approximately 5 minutes to complete.
We sincerely appreciate your time and insights. Your contributions will help inform strategic decision-making and policy development shaping the future of Europe and the United States in space.
