Highland Youth Big Band Swing & Jazz Festival

Highland Youth Big Band Swing & Jazz Festival - 14th March 2026 - Nairn Community & Arts Centre

We’re delighted to offer Highland musicians the opportunity to join our 19-piece Highland Youth Big Band for a day of musical delights in Nairn Community & Arts Centre.

The format will be:
10am: warm-up for all
10.30-11.30: improvisation workshops
11.30-11.50: break
11.50-12.50: specialist instrumental workshops
12.50-2: lunch
2-3: HYBB open rehearsal/masterclass (tutors working on a couple of HYBB charts with the band)
3-4: cool-down session for all
4-4.30: pre-gig break
4.30-6: HYBB gig + charts from event tutors (+ possibly a chart for all participants…depends on the combination of instruments applying)

The cost for public participants is: £50 (this includes the end of day gig)
