North Las Vegas Police Department Citizens' Academy

North Las Vegas Police Citizens’ Academy is a 10-week program that gives citizens a unique insight into the life and training of North Las Vegas Police Officers.

Applicants must be at least 18 years old and have no felony or gross misdemeanor convictions. All applicants must complete a background screening. Participants may only miss one class. Appropriate attire is business casual (for example: slacks and a collared shirt). No weapons, jeans, shorts, t-shirts or open-toed shoes are allowed.

Successful completion of this academy does not qualify the attendee as a Police Officer, nor does any portion of the training certify the participant in any way.
